Esmaltes da Kelly Stamping Plate Review

Press  Sample

Hey there!  Anyone who reads this blog at all probably knows I'm a complete stamping addict so I jumped at the chance to review some Esmaltes da Kelly stamping plates for Beautometry.com.  Esmaltes da Kelly make some gorgeous polishes and Kelly seems like an absolute sweetheart.  She's a stamper too so I wasn't surprised that these plates turned out to be great.  I was sent the first two plates in her series but, if these aren't to your personal tastes, check out the selection on Beautometry. There's a wide variety so I think there's something for everyone.

These plates are small stainless steel square plates measuring 8 cm x 8 cm.  The full nail images are pretty big but not the largest on the market at 15 x 20 mm.  Both the plates I received also have a few circular images on the bottom row that are 17 - 19 mm.  I've scanned the plates I received but, for the first time ever, I also swatched all the images.  I used Wet n Wild Black Creme so you can see how they stamp even without using a stamping-specific polish.  Most of them weren't problematic at all.  Some of them I did have to scrape in two directions but that's minor.  Keep in mind that this is my first time swatching a whole plate onto paper so it's a bit messy.

My first mani I'm sharing today was a gradient of China Glaze DJ Blue My Mind and Treble Maker over a white base.  I then stamped it with Hit The Bottle Paint The Town Violet and finished with HK Girl.

My second design using KN1 uses one of my all-time favourite polishes, an old one from Esmaltes da Kelly called Loosho.  I've never found another gold similar so I'm glad I bought a backup before it was discontinued.  I stamped the stars using Mundo de Unas Navy Blue.  It looks kind of super hero-themed to me and I like it!

To use KN2, I did some advanced stamping of the negative space roses with Mundo de Unas Black filled with FUN Lacquer Prima Donna and Mistletoe Kiss and topped with HK Girl top coat.  So much sparkle!

My second KN2 design uses the Esmaltes da Kelly Soap Bubbles collection, one I use pretty much every time I'm in the mood for some leadlighting.  For this particular mani I started with A England Excalibur, stamped with Mundo de Unas Black and used the Yellow, Green, Blue, Pink and Purple Soap Bubbles for the color.

Overall, I'm really pleased with these plates and, knowing how great her polish is, I'm happy to see Kelly branching out into stamping plates.  So far there are 18 plates available on Beautometry.com so there's lots of choose from.  I highly suggest checking them out.  After browsing, there's a few images that I'm dying to get my hands on.  And they were kind enough to give my readers a 10% off coupon code (CCC10EDK) to use at checkout.
